Excessus Records, a Swiss label launched in March 2024, excels in music production, artist booking and event organisation. It stands out for its specialisation in two styles of electronic music, with various sub-genres for each.
The label’s common theme and main dynamic lies in the dark aesthetic and fusion between these two musical worlds.
Our aim is to promote artists and projects in styles of music that are relatively unknown or underestimated in Switzerland. Although aimed at different audiences, these two styles share many common features.
As an events organiser for many years, this label is not aiming for fame or profit. Its primary aim is to share its deep passion for dark music with the public.
Some sub-genres of psytrance, such as darkpsy or psycore, can be perceived as introspective, dark and sometimes heavy. For some, these styles may even seem more like a confrontation with their own conscience rather than a musical experience to be fully appreciated.
However, Excessus Records seeks to convey the idea that every musical project tells a story, and that you need to understand that story to truly appreciate and love the music. The label also strives to promote a vision of music that is not necessarily linked to drug use or a particular state of mind, but rather to an open mind and a judicious selection of projects suited to each listener.
By focusing on these values and offering varied and thoughtful musical selections, Excessus Records hopes to offer a rich musical experience to its audience, creating moments of authentic connection between the music and those who listen to it, while encouraging the exploration and discovery of new sonic horizons.
